Social Cue is a local-first product. The "we don't collect your data" claim is literally true because of how it's built, not because of a promise we could quietly break.
What the product does on your machine
Discovery runs in your own logged-in browser and writes ranked opportunities and drafted replies to local files on your disk. Your social logins are never uploaded. The plugin runs on your Claude subscription; the Chrome extension uses your own Anthropic API key, stored locally and transmitted only to Anthropic. We operate no server that receives your brands, the pages you view, or the opportunities you find.
What this website collects
This website exists to sell and validate Pro subscriptions. It processes only:
- Your email and subscription status, so we can deliver your account token and know whether to issue license keys. Payment itself is handled by Polar, our merchant of record — we never see your card details.
- An account token (stored only as a hash) that your plugin presents to fetch a fresh license key. Requests to fetch a key carry the token and nothing else — no page content, brands, or opportunities.
What we don't collect
- No uploaded social sessions or cookies.
- No telemetry of page content or discovered opportunities.
- No central database of your brands or activity.
Chrome extension — Limited Use disclosure
The Social Cue Chrome extension reads the content of social pages you are viewing (Reddit, Hacker News, X) to surface engagement opportunities — that is its single, disclosed purpose. Social Cue's use of information received from Google APIs and of your web browsing activity adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Page content the extension reads is processed with your own Anthropic API key, stored only on your device, and never sold, transferred to advertisers, used for creditworthiness or lending purposes, or used for any purpose beyond that single feature.
Third parties
Polar handles checkout, billing, and tax as merchant of record. We use a transactional email provider solely to deliver your account token. That's it.
